The Grass is Bluer

January 31, 2008 · Comments Off

“In my opinion, you do not sit and quietly observe good folk and bluegrass music.  It was only a few songs in when one boy stood up to dance. He was instantly (literally) joined by the rest of the anxious listeners.”  Read more about Emma’s time at the blue grass concert at http://bobcatsdontcrywolf.wordpress.com/

Close Call

“This has been a busy week. I only have classes Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (don’t ask how it happened, I like to think I’ve been hooked up by the Gods on Garnet Gateway), but with study abroad and major declaration deadlines creeping up combined with my regular class load, I feel like I’ve been running around nonstop the past few days.” Read more about Naima’s busy week and her retreat at the Ronj at http://naimasnook.wordpress.com/

Snowboarding for Gym Credit?

January 30, 2008 · Comments Off

“Being a city kid, I’ve never learned the ways of most snow-sports, so when ‘Learn to Snowboard’ was offered as a gym class this semester, I threw caution to the wind and signed up…After determining that I was in fact ‘goofy’ and not ‘regular,’ the teacher (a fellow Bates student) took me over to the learning area of Lost Valley and taught me the basics.” Keep reading about Naima learning to snowboard in gym class at  http://naimasnook.wordpress.com/

January 30, 2008 · Comments Off

“Last night was a lot of fun. I came home from dinner to find two of my suite-mates hanging out in our common room. Winter Carnival

January 29, 2008 · Comments Off

“On Tuesday, the Outing Club shoveled out the college’s brand new grill, tossed on some goodies, and hosted a night of sledding down Mt. David - the college’s mini mountain that overlooks downtown Lewiston. I wasn’t originally planning on getting covered with snow, but I couldn’t resist.” Read more about Naima and her time at Winter Carnival at http://naimasnook.wordpress.com/
